    Abstract
    This tutorial will provide the reader with sufficient information to understand what is identity theft, how it occurs, what is the effect, and how to recover when it has occurred. In addition, information will be provided on how to prevent identity theft. The purpose of this work is to bring together the relevant sources of information on identity they and present them in a concise and coherent manner. the relevant information will include data on the frequency of identity theft, the overall cost, and current legal processes in place to minimize identity theft.
