dc.description | An Empirically Supported Treatment Case Study | |
dc.description.abstract | The primary feature of GAD is excessive and uncontrollable worry about future events and potentially negative outcomes (Barlow, 2004). Noah (not his real name) is a White 17-year-old high school senior residing in a midsize city in Midwest America. He has had multiple suicide attempts due to stress and anxiety. Noah described symptoms associated with GAD, Social Anxiety Disorder, and panic attacks on the ADIS-IV. Individual cognitive-behavioral therapy associated with the IUM (Intolerance of Uncertainty Model) was recommended to manage the anxiety contributing to panic attacks and improve his ability to cope with worry. | en_US |
