Abstract

Instead of making incremental changes to address a library that was 30 years old and 29 years out of date, Washburn University of Topeka, Kansas, chose to start over, and include an 18-hole miniature golf course in the redesign. We built the indoor course and organized the 1st Annual Caddystacks Golf Tournament in just six short weeks. With a Library Dean who is not afraid to do the unexpected, staff willing to follow him into the unknown, and the collaboration and support of many offices and departments across campus, it was done. We worked hard and had fun, raised some much-needed money, and built strong collaborative relationships that have allowed us to bring our library into the 21st century with innovative changes.
