Introducing University Pitch Competitions: An Analysis of the First Five Years

This paper centers on the introduction and development of a university business pitch competition held from 2014-2018. Firstly, the study compares the evolution of the competition over the first five years and how this compares with other university competitions. Second, interviews are conducted with past participants, judges and administrators for future improvements. Advantages and disadvantages of the event are discussed and a road map or best practice template is provided for implementation. The process immediately improved the competition, and these lessons can serve as a foundation for other institutions or organizations.
