Abstract

The case focuses on how the Pikolinos Group Inc., Multinational Corporation created a viable business collaboration with an indigenous community, Maasai of Kenya and Tanzania. The case details the pivotal role of ADCAM, an international NGO, with a focus on creating sustainable enterprises that are community-owned and -operated. ADCAM's role is to link community-based entrepreneurs to the fashion industry in Western Europe, North America and Japan. Are they ready? Is this model sustainable without the presence of ADCAM? What factors must be present in the symbiotic business model? Is the relationship between Maasai community and Pikolinos symbiotic?
